Notice is hereby given that an Election will be held in the City of Rice Lake on Tuesday, April 3, 2018.  The following offices are to be elected to succeed the present incumbents. The two-year term for the offices of Mayor and Alderperson At-Large begins Tuesday, April 17, 2018 and ends Tuesday, April 21, 2020.

Notice is further given that the first day to circulate nomination papers is December 1, 2017 and the final day for filing nomination papers is Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. at the City Clerk-Treasurer’s Office, 30 East Eau Claire Street, Rice Lake, WI  54868.

Notice is further given that if a primary is necessary, it will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2018.

  • Voting Hours:  7 a.m. - 8 p.m. for every election
  • PHOTO ID is Required to Vote, please come prepared 
  • Absentee Ballots are available for residents unable to vote at City Hall on Election Day 2 weeks before each election. Absentee voting ends the Friday before each election.   
  • Voter Registration required.  You must register to vote if you are a new City resident, changed your name, or changed your address (even if you move from one apartment to another in the same building).  Registration may be accomplished at the City Clerk-Treasurer's Office in City Hall during normal business hours or on Election Day, prior to voting.
  • ID # is required from one of the following:If you do not have either #1 or #2 above, the last 4 digits of your social security number shall be provided at the time of registration.
    1. State of Wisconsin Driver License
    2. State of Wisconsin Identification Card
  • Proof of Residency is required from one of the following (with voter's full name & address):
      • WI-issued driver’s license
      • WI-issued identification card
      • Employer-issued ID card 
      • College or Tech Student ID card
      • Real Estate Tax Bill
      • Rental Lease
      • Current Utility Bill
