RLPD is a Prescription Drug Drop Off Site

If you have prescription medication that is out-of-date or no longer needed, Rice Lake Police Department is pleased to announce the installation of a prescription drug deposit box for citizens to safely and easily dispose of unwanted drugs anytime, '24-7', throughout the year.  The deposit box was obtained through a financial donation from the Hilda M. Tucker Trust and is located in the lobby of the Public Safety Building, located at 34 S. Wilson Avenue, Rice Lake, WI.

Acceptable Items:

  • Expired or Unwanted Medications
  • Over-the Counter Medications
  • Prescription Patches
  • Sample Medications
  • Vitamins
  • Pet Medications
     

PLEASE NOTE:  Pills must be in an enclosed container such as a pill bottle or Ziploc baggie before being placed in the drug drop box.

 

Unacceptable Items:

  • Needles/Syringes/Lancets
  • Thermometers
  • Empty Bottles/Containers
  • Liquid Medications
  • LOOSE MEDICATIONS
  • Biohazards/Bloody Waste

 

These items may be brought to the the Department of Health and Human Services, 335 E Monroe Ave, 3rd Floor, Barron, WI to be disposed of.
