Nora Cemetery

1401 Hammond Avenue

Nora Cemetery, 42 acres, is on the northern edge of the City of Rice Lake.  The "History of Barron County Wisconsin, 1922" states the cemetery was started by the Evangelical Lutheran Congregation of Rice Lake.  The church was built in 1882, while the cemetery was plotted and dedicated in 1884.

Sorenson Addition

1985 - City purchased 35 acres north of Nora Cemetery, across Lindy Street, for future cemetery expansion.  

1996 - City sold 6 acres located in the northeast corner of the property to St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Parish for Church cemetery expansion.


 

Orchard Beach Cemetery

1800 East Orchard Beach Lane

1890 - James Bracklin presented Orchard Beach Cemetery to the City with the stipulation that reservations be made for himself, his family, ex-soldiers and the financially less fortunate.  

There are no lots available for sale in the 13-acre cemetery located on East Orchard Beach Lane at the eastern city limits.
