The mission of the City of Rice Lake is to provide services to its citizens, which are necessary to promote and protect their health, safety, and quality of life needs, which are are not deemed to be feasible or viable for the private sector to provide.

The City is served by the Mayor, plus 4 District Councilmembers elected in odd numbered years and 4 At-Large Councilmembers elected in even numbered years. The Rice Lake Common Council meets the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. in the Council Room, City Hall, 30 East Eau Claire Street.
