Solid Waste/Recycling Automated Communication Form - Click here for the form to submit to receive direct communication when there will be a change or interruption in service outside your normal collection day.
 
Recycling Simplified - Household batteries, light bulbs, holiday lights and cell phones are accepted at City Hall.
 
Waste Oil & Anti-Freeze Recycling - The Waste Oil / Anti-Freeze Collection Facility is located at the Barron County Highway Department, in Barron, on the west side of STH 25 by the fuel island.  The collection facility is open 24-hours a day, seven days a week.
 
Electronics Recycling - City of Rice Lake residents may bring electronic items for recycling to:
 Community Services Department

Hours 8 am - 3pm
Stop in at Community Services Office with your driver's license or proof of residency
 
City pays 100% of recycling fees for the following items accepted:
  • Computers, printers, cables
  • Televisions, VCR, DVD/CD players
  • Copy machines, typewriters, calculators, telephones
  • Audio equipment

  • Junk Mail and Envelopes
  • Phone Books
  • Office and School Papers (colored papers too)
  • Boxboard (cereal, cake and cracker boxes)
  • Brown Paper Bag (grocery bags)
  • Aluminum Cans
  • Tin and Steel Cans (rinsed)
  • Glass Jars and Bottles
  • Plastic Milk Jugs
  • Plastic Bottles (with necks only)

No - these items cannot be recycled:
  • Plastic Bags
  • Food Waste, Garbage
  • Food Tainted Items (used paper plates, paper towels or paper napkins)
  • Pizza Boxes
  • Egg Cartons
  • Ice Cream Boxes
  • Paper/Waxy Milk Cartons
  • Aluminum Foil
  • Plastic Cups/Silverware
  • Aerosol Cans
  • Plastic other than Bottle (clear strawberry containers, etc.)
  • Juice Boxes/Bags
